In this role, you will be instrumental in the growth and development of the firm across the Middle East in setting their Public affairs strategy and program, as well as influencing the firms internal policies. They are looking for someone with strong experience of building strong lasting relationships with regulators and governments across the region. They are looking for the role to be based out of Riyadh, but they offer a lot of flexibility. About the Team: The Firm’s Corporate Public Affairs team plays a pivotal role in shaping a favourable environment for the growth and positive impact across various markets. They believe in proactive engagement, long lasting trust-based partnerships, collaborating closely with product and business teams to anticipate and mitigate risks, while identifying new opportunities. About the Position: As the Lead Public Policy for the Gulf region, you’ll have many responsibilities. You’ll primarily be responsible for the design and implementation of the firms’s public affairs strategy in the Gulf region, spearhead regional engagements across Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE, and provide expert guidance to senior leadership on the intricacies of the region’s political and economic landscape. Your Main Responsibilities: Ensuring the firm’s product and business teams operate in full compliance with local regulations, proactively identifying and addressing potential challenges. Developing a deep understanding of business priorities and legislative trends to inform proactive strategies that mitigate risks and unlock new opportunities. Working seamlessly with senior leaders across their policy, communications, legal, marketing, operations, and other teams to drive alignment. Keeping senior management informed on critical political and economic developments in the region through regular reports and briefings. What are We Looking for?: At least 10 years of experience in public policy, government relations, or a related field in the technology industry and/or highly regulated industries Ability to communicate fluently in English and Arabic Extensive knowledge of the policy landscape in the Gulf region, with a focus on e-commerce regulations and emerging trends. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain relationships with external partners. Proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams. Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Experience in providing strategic counsel to senior executives.
