Interim Senior Solution Engineer – Netherlands based Open on day rate – outside of IR35 As a Senior Solution Engineer, you will be an integral part of the IT Development Team, reporting to the CIO. Your role will be pivotal in delivering and managing software solutions, while also contributing to broader engineering decision-making and strategy. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities End-to-End Ownership : Take full responsibility for solutions and domains from conception to implementation, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes. Problem-Solving Skills : Analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions to address them promptly, minimizing disruption to operations and maximizing customer satisfaction. Agile Collaboration : Collaborate closely with internal and third-party developers within an agile framework, supporting and contributing to the success of cross-functional teams. Technical Leadership : Provide guidance on technical decisions, foster innovation, and drive continuous improvement within the engineering organization. Effective Communication : Maintain excellent verbal communication skills, engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels to ensure clear understanding and alignment of objectives. Customer Focus : Understand customer requirements and translate them into actionable plans, delivering platform and DevOps solutions that exceed expectations. Hands-On Engagement : Actively participate in various aspects, including application code development, DevOps practices, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure management. Continuous Learning : Exhibit a broad range of knowledge and a willingness to explore new code areas and platform components to drive innovation and stay ahead of industry trends. Bridge Between Architecture & Development : Serve as a bridge between architecture and development teams, conducting code reviews, debugging code, and developing when required to ensure alignment and adherence to best practices. Flexibility : Be open to occasional work outside of core operational hours and travel to sites in the UK and Europe as required. Required Skills and Experience Minimum of 5 years in a Senior or Staff-level Development role in the Netherlands. Excellent IT skills and computer literacy, with a solid understanding of software development principles, networking concepts, and system architecture. Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts. Ability to produce comprehensive documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in cloud platform management, preferably using GCP, or comparable platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure. Proficiency in PHP coding; experience with the Laravel framework is a bonus. Understanding of Kafka and event-driven architecture. Experience with Kubernetes, including container orchestration, deployment, and scaling of containerized applications in a cloud-native environment. Experience with Apigee or similar API gateway solutions. Awareness of the current technology marketplace. Fluent in English; Dutch is a bonus. Other Desirable Skills and Experience Practical experience with Linux/Unix. Familiarity with Confluent Kafka. Experience with Nuxt.js, a Vue.js framework for building web applications. Understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
