We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Pavement Design Engineer to join our team in Cotonou, Benin. As a Pavement Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing the structural integrity and performance of pavement systems. You will work closely with our project teams to develop cost-effective and sustainable pavement designs that meet the specific needs of each project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a focus on pavement design and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and analyze pavement systems for various types of projects, including highways, airports, and parking lots.
  2. Conduct pavement condition assessments and develop recommendations for pavement maintenance and rehabilitation.
  3. Perform structural analyses to determine the load-carrying capacity of pavement systems.
  4. Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate pavement design and analysis findings.
  5. Collaborate with project teams to develop cost-effective and sustainable pavement designs.
  6. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in pavement design and analysis technologies.
  7. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  8. Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  9. Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to address design and construction-related issues.
  10. Participate in project meetings and provide input on pavement design and analysis matters.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  2. Previous experience in pavement design and analysis.
  3. Proficiency in pavement design software, such as AutoCAD, MicroPAVER, or similar tools.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  7. Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  8. Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  9. Experience working on transportation infrastructure projects is a plus.
  10. Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
