SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

 

As a Warehouse & Logistics Manager you will lead and manage Logistics and Warehouse by enhancing its developments based on Jotun’s values and in accordance with local, regional, segment, and corporate objectives and guidelines to achieve their overall objectives related to safety, profitability, competitiveness, customer satisfaction, service, and quality. This role is based in Addis Ababa and reports to the Supply Chain Manager.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Warehouse and Logistics team in line with Leadership Expectations and tools to develop, coach, and guide its members to ensure a workforce that is competent, engaged, and enabled to meet Jotun’s current and future needs in line with Jotun Operations System, and Jotun’s HSEQ Management system.

  • Responsible for Health Safety Environment Quality (HSEQ) within the area of responsibility

  • Initiate, drive, and follow up continuous improvement activities by implementing the Jotun Operations System and follow up through agreed KPIs.

  • Participate in operations management meetings to coordinate activities and improvement projects.

  • Run efficient freight and warehouse tenders and research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods in cooperation with Purchasing.

  • Set transportation operations guidelines, monitor delivery performance, review and approve transportation contracts, and advise on delivery improvements.

  • Arrange stock counting and activities to ensure correct inventory is displayed in the system.

  • Cooperate with Customer Service, purchasing, and planners to maintain the right stock levels.

  • Manage warehouse operations like receiving and picking, quality control, and expiry date follow-up.

  • Maintains the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing optimal layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair, and requisitions for replacement.

Qualification & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher within a relevant field

  • 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in warehouse and logistics in a manufacturing company. 

 

Competence requirements

  • People Management: provides team with a clear sense of direction, inspires and coordinates others and keeps them focused on objectives

  • Analysis & Judgment: quickly understands and analyzes complex issues and problems; comes up with sound and rational judgments

  • Networking: builds a useful network of contacts and relationships and utilizes it to achieve objectives

 

Additional requirements

  • Leadership experience is essential

  • Experience with, and good understanding of, ERP and planning processes

  • Ability to make decision based on analytical data

  • Experience in extracting and analyzing large amounts of data using excel or similar applications.
